Phone Photos

This is my weekend so far according to my phone. On Friday evening I went to FDF (family dinner friday) with Mom, Dad, and Ethan. Then I went out with Adriana and friends to a hookah bar. It was fun! Adriana and I played pool and I WON. Which is very rare because I'm terrible at pool (is the correct term billiards?)

I woke up pretty early this morning and hung out with Ethan for just a little while. Then I took off thrifting and shopping. I landed the most awesome vintage jeans (photo below). The jeans still have the original tags from (I believe) 1982. So I'm pretty sure they've never been worn, how freakin' amazing is that. Then I was searching for a new swim suit because I may be wearing one next weekend and... I found the greatest. It's red, white, and blue with stripes and polka dots. AND anchors :) which seemed very appropriate since Mr. Scottie B. is in the Navy.

After my shopping adventure Mom, Dad, Ethan, Jaxson, and I went on a picnic. I have actual photos from that and will post them later. Then a quick nap and swimming at Christi's work. There are photo's below of the pool area and it's AWESOME. There is a slide, ton's of water, and perfect for kids. Ethan wore me out running around and swimming for a few hours.

So I'm drinking some wine and gonna stay in for the night! Hope everyone's weekend is going just as awesomely as mine is!

What A Weekend!

This last weekend Mr. Scottie B. came to Madison. On Saturday afternoon we took Ethan to the Zoo. We saw lots of animals, Ethan and Mr. SB rode the train, and Ethan played on the playground. You can see in the photos the adorable US Navy shirt Mr. Scottie B. got me :)

Here are photos from the zoo

After the zoo and after pretty much everyone took a nap we headed to the Mallards Baseball game. We got a picnic table in the Duck Blind so we had unlimited beer and food. Let's just say everyone but Mom and Rachel got pretty:y intoxicated. It was so much fun. A few things that happened throughout the game: I spilled a beer on myself and Mom immediately said "Party Foul", we had multiple HUDDLES to tell secrets, we cheered for the right fielder named Owen, and watched the fireworks after the game. It was a lot of fun, we laughed a lot. I love my fam!

I took Mr. Scottie B. back to the base pretty early and we went to church. Then I headed home for a Father's Day BBQ. It was a relaxing afternoon. Now I'm laying around in MY navy sweats and watching tv. I'm going to try to catch up on some sleep tonight. Thanks fam and Mr. Scottie B. for a lovely weekend.

Chicago

After getting back from my New York trip I had four days of work and then I took another weekend trip to Chicago :D

Originally my plan was to go down on Saturday with my parents. My dad had work there so I was just going to stay with them. But then Mr. Scottie B. didn't have plans Friday evening or Saturday morning and well, we hadn't seen each other in a few weeks. And I was excited to see him so... I took the bus Friday evening. I got into town and met up Mr. SB. We ate a late dinner, picked up some wine, and then had a wine & comedy night.

The next morning we got up and had kind of a lazy morning. We both finally got ready and as usual got some coffee. We made our way down to Millennium Park. After promising to post a picture of the awesome navy blanket Mr. SB scored at the Vintage Bazaar, I finally have a photo of it below. We drank some wine (and got told we couldn't) and Mr. Scottie B. played some lovely music. My parents got into town and went to the convention center to set up for my dad's work stuff. We met them there and dropped off our bags (and Mr. SB met my parents, yikes). Then we wandered around till they were done and met them for dinner. There is a photo of us at dinner and don't mind how terrible I look. Mr. SB and I walked like a million miles to the restaurant.

After dinner we ended up getting him a cigar and we went down to the Chicago Blues Festival. It was a little misty (no rain) and foggy, which was perfect. We finished our wine and enjoyed the music. We headed back to the base at a semi-reasonable hour (normally it's like 2 a.m.) and I stayed at the hotel on base.

In the morning we went to church on base. Then went to a church sponsored bbq of sorts off base. I met and chatted with a few new people, everyone I met was very friendly. The boys played flag football and it was a perfect afternoon. Mr. Scottie B. and I then walked to downtown Lake Bluff and went to Lake Bluff Brewing Company. I am not a huge fan of beer, but I'm always willing to drink it and try different brews (is that the right term?). We were both starving but it was Sunday and everything closed pretty early (or wasn't open at all). We realized after looking at the train schedule we would have to part ways in Lake Bluff. So I took the train back downtown and then out to the hotel (with my parents). I was so flippin' hungry, I ended up ordering room service.

On Monday I got up and realized my keys were in my parents car (I was planning on going back to Madison pretty early, but couldn't do that without my keys). So I ended up getting ready and going into the city. I wandered around and enjoyed the wonderful weather. I grabbed a sandwich and ate outside. I located a cupcake place and Starbucks and then ended up walking along Lake Shore to the convention center. It was a long walk but the weather was so nice and it seemed silly to take a cab. I ate a very quick dinner with my parents and I was on my way home.

Here are a TON of pictures from Chicago

This next weekend Mr. Scottie B. is coming to Madison. We are going to go a Mallard's game with my family and spend some time with Ethan (I'm thinking at the zoo)! Hope everyone is having a great start to the summer!

New York!

Finally did some light editing and went through the photos from New York. There are a ton more than what I uploaded but these are a few of my favorites.

I'm hanging out with Ethan and Jackson tonight so I don't have a ton of time to link places we visited and go into more depth. But know that my New York trip was everything I dreamed of and more. I had such a wonderful time with the most perfect weather. I'm so glad I had Adriana to hang out with and my parents (as always) were a lot of fun.

My posts are going to be out of order because I'm going to upload my photos from my Chicago trip with Mr. Scottie B. next and THEN my Philadelphia visit. But I'm really excited to look through the pictures from this last weekend and share them.

Busy

I've been quite busy. Our trip to New York and Philly was last weekend and it was such a great trip. I had so much fun and the trip went exactly as I had imagined. I have so many photos to go through, edit, and post. I would promise to do that by this weekend but....

We're heading to Chicago this weekend (told you I was busy)! We got home from our trip Monday, I work all week, and Saturday morning we leave for Chicago.

Some highlights of my trip were: Central Park twice, bubble tea, vintage dress find, sushi twice, dinner with my parents, not feeling lost, brunch by myself at a cafe, and wandering through the city like I lived there. We had wonderful weather the whole time we were there. The whole vacation was magical. We also went to Philly and I'll tell you more about that part of my trip when I post photos. I will say though that I was sadly disappointed with Philadelphia.

My week has been going by quite slowly and I'm sure it's because I get to see Mr. Scottie B. this weekend (I did not see him Memorial Day weekend, so its been a few weeks). He is having a frustrating week, so any prayers would be appreciated. I am going to bake him treats to hand deliver this weekend. So I've been browsing recipe blogs all morning.

I've been lazy about going to the gym this week. Although I did do a lot of walking on my trip and did go tk the gym at the hotel once. My goal for today is to workout (even if its a quick run outside and then a workout at home). I also have to tell everyone that I love the show "The Voice" (if you follow me on twitter you probably know this). I'm hoping to see my nephews soon since I havent seen them for over a week (possibly before my Chicago trip).

Well photos are coming soon, promise. Hope everyone's week is going well and continues to be positive.
